For the more active senior adults, we are starting to have activities to encourage the membership to spend time together in fellowship and fun. In the last two months we have had Saturday afternoon game time. This is a time to share lunch with one another and enjoy each other’s company–so far “Uno” has been the biggest hit. We have tried having a prayer breakfast at Mr. Lou’s, but discovered that the room was a bit too noisy for close fellowship. As a result of this discovery we are seeking a better location. We are in the process of considering a trip to Derby Dinner toward the latter part of July and are weighing other possible short trips in the next few months. We encourage suggestions and invite all interested mature adults to join us.

We also have some members who are unable to get out of the house much. We are blessed to have five men who take time out of their week to call and visit with our members. They are quite a blessing to our shut-ins and also keep the staff abreast of any changes.

We now have a new e~prayer chain and are hoping to coordinate with the children’s ministry for a list of young people that we as mature adults can both lift up in prayer and when a need arises be able to contact those families.

BIBLE STUDIES

Bible Studies exist to grow your faith and biblical knowledge. Gathering weekly throughout the year you can journey with others toward Christ-likeness. You can gather to experience Bible study, prayer and fellowship in small group settings.

Our Bible Study Groups meet every Sunday morning at 9:30. These groups are intended to facilitate fellowship and care as the group walks together exploring the truth of the Scriptures and applying it to our lives. We have groups for every stage in life so please make sure you are a part of this vital ministry here at New Salem!

We meet the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 P.M.

During this time we are open and honest with one another as we share both our heartaches and our praises.

We always have a concise but thorough Bible study as we desire to learn to be intentional Christ-followers from God’s Word. We also have a time of fellowship, sharing a meal with one another, as we discuss various ways to serve our congregation and community.

The Children’s ministry exists to help those in our care know God and grow to become like His Son, Jesus Christ.

  1. To fill Children’s minds with the Word of God so they will grow to think the way God thinks and live the way God has commanded.
  2. To establish in children habits of godly living ad a daily lifestyle.
  3. To create a Christian Community of children and adults who enjoy life together as a family and who are committed to Jesus Christ and to each other.
  4. To help children build proper relationships to the authorities in their lives.
  5. To help children trust Christ as Savior, to submit to Him and to live as Christian’s at home, at school, at play or wherever they are.
  6. To build Christian homes by encouraging families and training them in their tasks.
  7. To make each child’s experience at church safe, fun and profitable in the process of growing to become everything God has planned.
